LOVEBUG CREATIONS blog
Spring is a time for Easter and Mother's Day events but it also signals weddings, graduations, family reunions, and more.  LoveBug Creations has some new awesome products to unveil today for your spring celebrations.

So do you want to add something special to your handmade projects?? If so, consider these new springtime collections for your crafting arsenal of rumple ribbon delights:

And for something different, we are releasing the beautiful Mama's Roses.
Each rose is hand-formed and hand-dyed; each has dimensions of  2"x 2" and can be used as is or inked, painted, stickled, and more - your imagination can provide lots of possibilities for these beauties - and they are feather-light so you can create lots of projects from layouts to cards to tags to mixed media creations to 3-D creations and more and not feel there's an anchor on your project, weighing it down!

And if that isn't enough... We've got 4 NEW Mama's Mesh Colors: Kraft, Ivory, Light Blue & Light Pink!!!
Also Mama's Mesh is now being offered to buy by the yard as opposed to in collections!

So settle back as we take you on a tour of spring celebrations and invite you to visit our LBC ONLINE STORE.

I altered these take out containers that I have been hoarding for ages! I thought they would be great to fill with candy & a gift card for a birthday, Easter or Mother's Day treat!

I adhered the sentiment cards (made by MAMBI) to the front & added a beautiful bow to each. I also thought a bow on the top of the containers looked like just the needed, special touch!

On the blue container I used the new rumple ribbons in "Buttercup" (yellow) & "Blue Bells". On the lavender box I used "Spring Lilac" & "Dahlia". All of the colors are so gorgeous & I can't wait to create more projects with them. The colors are just what I needed after a long, cold winter. You certainly won't want to miss out on these beautiful collections!

Now, how about some delicious LBC Blog Candy!

for just the right touch of class.

I made this card for a friend who is about to have her second child-7 years after her first!

I started with the digital papers from Fleurette's "Moonbeams & Fairy Dust" collection. The colors are so bright & vibrant! I punched the stars from their star paper. The ribbon I used here is Lovebug Creations' "Shamrock" from their Lucky You-Lucky Me collection.

My friend doesn't know the baby's gender, so I thought this looked neutral. Here is the inside:

A Sketchy Layout

I have always loved playing along with sketches! They give me a starting point & they are just plain fun. I haven't had enough time to play creatively here recently, but I did make time over the weekend to create the following page. And it started with this sketch from The Memory Nest:

Love the circles here!

I used the papers from the color kit from TMN, "Weaving Color". The page is built upon the gorgeous paper from Crate. The chevron & striped papers are from Pink Paislee. My alphas are Thickers & were in my stash.

If you get a minute, be sure to play along with this fun sketch! You can link up here.
I hope y'all have a great day!

Treat Box

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday again.
Today I want to share my Lovebug Creations' project with you.
The secretary at my kids' school has been so helpful (& tolerant) to me with various projects recently, that I wanted to give her a little token of my appreciation. I bought these cute little pillow boxes at Target.

I took a chipboard flower & covered it in Panther Pink rumple ribbon, then topped that off with a bow in William rumple ribbon. Both of these colors can be found in the store. The little button in the center is made of thick cardstock.

I figure I'll fill this box with some chocolates!  Hopefully she'll enjoy it!
Have a great day y'all.

PL with SOUS

Happy Monday & Spring y'all!
It was a gorgeous, spring-like weekend here. Although, today is a different story. The temps have dropped & there is talk of snow in the forecast tomorrow!!

But over at Stuck On U Sketches, they are getting ready for Spring with the newest Project Life challenge. It is to use butterflies on your spread! Love it!!
Here is my layout:
I love the bright colors on this page & how they pop against the white background. All of my PL cards are from WRMK. This spread came together so easily! Isn't it fabulous when that happens?!
My butterflies were punched with my Martha Stewart punch.
My alpha stickers are from Fancy Pants. I liked using the 2 journal cards here to document our trip to North Carolina for a family reunion on my husband's side. I added some gems around the page for more sparkle!

Be sure to link up here for a chance at this month's prize-a gift certificate from Creative Embellishments!

You have two weeks to play along! We love seeing your projects!!

Have a great day & stay scrappy!

Weaving Color

Hey y'all!
Weaving Color is the name of one of the color kits this month from The Memory Nest. The one I got to work with. It was chock full of great papers from Crate, Pink Paislee, Echo Park & many more!
Here is my latest layout:

I started with the orange cardstock (from the kit), and fussy cut the chevron patterns from a piece of Pink Paislee paper. I used my Sharpie paint pen to outline the top & bottom chevron strips.
The chipboard arrows were also included in the kit!
The wood veneers here are all from Studio Calico. And the alphas are AC Thickers. The doilies are from Martha Stewart.

Thanks for stopping by! And be sure to stop in to the store, where The Memory Nest is offering 17% off your purchase of $17 or more!!

Happy crafting!

Lovebug Creations' Wednesday

Hey y'all!

Another Wednesday & things are crazy busy around here! And we also got more snow & ice yesterday so the kids were home from school. And on a 2 hour delay today! Spring can't come soon enough!!!
I am the co-chair for the Book Fair at their school, which just wrapped up yesterday, & the yearbook. This is a hectic time of year with both of them going on. Last week I was at school for most of every day. I am enjoying taking photos for the yearbook & am getting anxious to see it come together.

Wednesday means that I have a Lovebug Creations' project to share with you! Today it is a tag. Ty had a friend's birthday party to attend on Saturday, & I did not have the time to make a card. So I put together this birthday tag:
I started with older scraps of paper from October Afternoon's Sasparilla collection. I used the green Mama's Mesh   from the Hallo-Mesh collection from Lovebug Creations.

I love the added interest the mesh lends to any project. The green really pops here. I tied it to the top of the tag along with some twine and the present was complete!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope it's a crafty one for you!

Read This!

Happy Wednesday friends!
It's Wednesday which means I am sharing my latest Lovebug Creations' project.
Today I am sharing a gift I made for my daughter's sweet friend. I found this charm on sale and it happened to be her initial, so I bought it, knowing I could come up with something for her. I made her this bookmark (hence my title!):
I started with 3 colors of rumple ribbon: Purple People Eater from the Fright Night collection, Green Goddess (which is now retired), and Kisses from the Loves Me...Love Me Knot collection, and braided them together. The charm is tied on the end.
I thought this would be awesome to give her for her birthday along with a gift certificate to the bookstore.
The colors of the ribbons are also bright & cheery which suit me fine right now. After snow & cold temps this winter, I am ready to welcome Spring! Today & yesterday are fabulous, with temperatures in the 70's.

We love to read around here & think it's a fabulous hobby for anyone to enjoy! Hope you can appreciate this.

Have a wonderful day!

SOUS PL-Neon

Happy Monday y'all! That sure happened fast, didn't it?!
My husband & I went out of town over the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so I got nothing done around the house! But it was a nice weekend & the weather was gorgeous on Saturday.
Today the Book Fair at the kids' school begins, so this week will be extremely busy! One day at a time....

The newest Project Life challenge is up over at Stuck On U Sketches and it is to use neon on your spread. Here is my project:
I started with the neon green cardstock and cut a large rectangle for my center.

The foam alphas from Thickers were originally white & I colored them with a neon blue marker.

I used my craft punches to add a neon orange star & butterfly.

We would love to see you play along with us! If you do, be sure to link up here for a chance at this month's prize, a gift certificate from Creative Embellishments.

Supplies:
cardstock: Bazzil
journal cards: We R Memory Keepers; Scraptastic kit club
alphas: AC Thickers
patterned paper: Echo Park
stickers: Echo park
wood veneer starburst: Studio Calico
punches: Fiskars & Martha Stewart

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday Connie!

Happy birthday to my Lovebug CT sister, Connie!
We have made her some birthday cards to celebrate her special day! Here is the card I made for her:
It showcases the new "Fool's Gold" rumple ribbon from the Lucky You-Lucky Me collection. I also used a Beautiful Bloom  in white, which I placed in the center of the kraft flower. The diamond pieces are fussy cut from a piece of Pink Paislee paper. Of course the alphas are AC Thickers!
Connie, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and amazing year ahead!
Be sure to head over to her blog  and leave her some birthday love! You also don't want to miss the other CT gals' creations on the LBC blog.
Have a great Sunday y'all!

Happy Friday

Hey y'all & happy Friday!
Drew & I are headed out of town for the weekend. I am trying to wrap up a few things before we leave & I realized I never shared this layout. It is a lift of the member of the month over at Memorable Seasons. This month we lifted the fabulous Ange! You can see all of her wonderfully fun layouts here.
This is my layout, about the kids love for their rain boots!
The bachground paper is actually from the "Santa's List" collection from Teresa Collins. The rest of the papers & embellishments are left over from my Echo Park Head Over Heels collection. The alphas are AC Thickers.

The resin flowers are from Fancy Pants.

This is Ange's original layout that I lifted:

It sure was fun to lift her this month!! Thanks for the inspiration, Ange!
Have a great day!

TMN Color Kits

Hey y'all & happy Thursday! First off I need to give a "happy anniversary" shout out to my husband Drew! Today we are celebrating 15 years of wedded matrimony. Hard to believe it's been that long & y'all, I don't feel that old!

Secondly, today is my first post for The Memory Nest. I am super excited to share with you the kit I was sent to work with! This month Leslie has created two color kits, "Feathers" & "Weaving Color". Here is "Weaving Color", the kit I received, and a photo of Leslie's color inspiration:
The papers in this kit are gorgeous!! And the bright colors made me scream for joy!
I fell in love instantly with the Pink Paislee papers! Here is my first layout:
I fussy cut the diamond shapes from a sheet of Pink Paislee paper & added them around the page here.

To see more inspiration from both of these kits, hop on over the The Memory Nest blog. There are also some fun challenges to play along with this month. You don't want to miss out!
I will have more to share using this kit later on.
Make it a great day, y'all!!

Hello Wednesday

You are a godsend to me today! The kids were home from school Monday & yesterday due to snow, & I so needed them to go back today. I have so much to do & having the kids at home, while as nice & relaxing as it can be, puts a crimp in getting things done. They went in 2 hours late today but at least that gives me some time to get things accomplished.

Today is my favorite aunt's birthday, so I made her this card: Happy birthday Aunt Mary!!
I cut the circle from a piece of patterned paper from Echo Park. The ribbon "flower" is made using Simple Blue rumple ribbon from the Star Spangled collection. I added a Prima gem to the center for a touch of bling. The edges of the card are inked in a dark blue ink.

Tomorrow my husband & I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary!! How is that possible?! I know he really doesn't appreciate my crafting as much as he could but figured I needed to make him a card anyway!
The orange chevron paper is from Echo Park and the patterned paper that I fussy cut is from Pink Paislee (love it!). Here I used the Caddy Blue "On the Edge" rumple ribbon and tied it around the edge of my card. The sentiment is a stamp from Jaded Blossom from their "Wedding Wishes" stamp set. I hope he enjoys it!
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fabulous day!
