Hair Clip

Hey y'all!
It's another snowy & very cold Wednesday here! Ugh!! We are all starting to feel cabin fever set in & are wishing for Spring! Although, the kids don't mind missing school too much. LOL!

I have a crafty project to share with you that I made using Lovebug Creations' newest products! I made a hair clip for Leah. To me it feels fresh & spring-like & we could all use a little bit of that right now!

I made a flower from the new sheer ribbon, "Crushed" from the Loves Me....Love Me Knot collection. After I made the flower, I adhered one of the new & oh so fabulous Beautiful Blooms on top. I like the way the clip turned out and so did Leah!

Hope y'all have a great Hump day!
Stay warm!!

PL with SOUS

Hey y'all! Welcome to another Monday & the latest Project Life challenge from Stuck On U Sketches. This week the challenge is to add embossing. I used a cardstock card with dry embossed dots.

These photos are from Leah's first riding lesson back in April of 2010 when she was 7! I rode as a little girl also, so I was thrilled when she expressed an interest! Now horses & riding are 2 great loves in her life!!
I used a mix of manufacturers here. The horse stickers are from Glitz. The "Love Story" journal card is from Bella Blvd. The other PL cards are from Scraptastic.
Remember that if you play along with this, or any of the January challenges & link up at SOUS, you will be eligible for this prize, provided by Scrap Shotz!

You have until February 14 to play along with this PL challenge!
Have a great day!
Stay scrappy!

Rescue Me!

So I mentioned the other day how the kids couldn't wait to get snow, right? Well, we got snow Tuesday afternoon, but the kicker is, we didn't get much. Maybe 2 inches. Since the temps have been so cold here (we haven't gotten out of the 20's all week), nothing is melting & there is ice under the little bit of snow. So that means, since we live in the south, that the kids have been out of school ALL week! And they are off again tomorrow! And Monday is a pre-scheduled teacher work day, so they won't got to school then! And I may have already gone insane!!!
They are loving every minute of it, though. Yesterday we went to a local middle school & went sledding & snow boarding. Then we went to lunch with my sister & nephew. Today they played outside most of the day with friends. Tonight they are having sleepovers. It's like summer, minus the heat & mosquitoes!

Even the dogs are enjoying it.
And as for me, well, I am counting down the hours til Tuesday!
Take care y'all!

Rumple Ribbon Wednesday

Hey y'all & welcome to Wednesday! The middle of the week, but around here it has been a very short week.
The kids had off of school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King day & yesterday they closed schools due to a predicted winter storm! So this week should be easy enough to get through!

I want to share the latest card I made using Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon:
I wanted to make a cheerful card since the weather is cold & gloomy here.
I used a scrap piece of Fancy Pants' paper that I had left from their Collecting Moments collection. I accordion-folded this piece to give the card more dimension.
The "Simply Grey" rumple ribbon is from the Just the Basics collection. I added some gemstones to give the card some bling & more shine! The orange chevron paper is from Lily Bee's Pinwheel collection. The "thanks" chipboard piece is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you're staying warm!

Let It Snow

Happy Friday y'all!!
Today I want to share my latest layout created with some of my favorite Lily Bee papers.
While we did get some snow yesterday, I didn't get any pictures of the kids in it as there wasn't much left by the time they got home from school! So this picture is an older one of Ty trying to make a snowball.
I applied the paint dots using a pencil eraser to the white cardstock. Here are some detail photos:

I am playing along with this challenge at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy:

I used the left row down-tear the edges, old book page & snow flakes.

Supplies:
-Lily Bee papers-Destination & Pinwheel
-Lily Bee Head Over Heels journal card
-Imaginisce journal spot (Let It Snow)
-Teresa Collins buttons
-flair button & wood veneer arrow from Scraptastic
-misc book paper & sequins
-Martha Stewart arctic snowflake punch

A Little Birthday Magic!

So Ty turned 7 today & woke up to this outside:
He was so excited!
First snowfall of the year (granted, it was only about 2 inches, but that's a good amt. around here)! Too bad school didn't close though. We were just talking yesterday on the way to school about not getting any snow yet & the kids have been yearning for it some kind of bad! By the time they got home today, it was almost all melted. I was bummed for them but really think we'll get more before the end of the season.  They did go outside & make snowballs though. And both their teachers let their class go out & play while at school.

My kids love donuts & I don't buy them very often, but it has become a birthday tradition that they have donuts for breakfast. They love it!!

Drew & I took him lunch to school today from Panera (his request). When the kids got home from school he opened all of his gifts.

And yes, that is my Christmas tree in the corner! Don't judge!!

For dinner, he wanted to make his own pizza, so we did just that!
He said he had a great birthday & we all enjoyed celebrating him! He sure is a treasure to us all!

Have a great night y'all!

"7" Badge

Wow! I am having the hardest time wrapping my brain around the fact that tomorrow, this little guy will be SEVEN!!!
Ty has charmed our hearts & lives! He is such a sweet & caring boy, but also has a wild streak. He is a bear in the mornings & when he gets mad, watch out! He is sensitive & creative & I love him with all of my heart!!

I made him this birthday badge to wear on his special day. It features Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon in Simply Red & Simply White, both from the "Star Spangled" collection.

I started with the large chipboard circle & sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in "Jack Frost".
I then made the rosette from a scrap piece of Crate Paper that was cut to 10" by 1".
On top of that is another, smaller chip circle, also misted with "Jack Frost". On the back of this circle is where I adhered my ribbons.
To that, I added the popped up star. This was punched from a piece of the sheet music paper from October Afternoon's "Silent Night" collection.
I then adhered the "7", which is a vinyl Thicker from American Crafts.

I hope he gets some enjoyment from this badge. He can be a bit finicky!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a great Wednesday!

Enjoy Card

Today is a special friend (& Lovebug Creations'  team member) Dorcas' birthday!!
We all want to wish her a very happy birthday! It has been a pleasure getting to know Dorcas & work alongside of her over the past year!
We have created birthday cards for her & here is mine:
I used three different border punches on the solid cardstock & added rumple ribbon in Simply White at the top.
The alphas are AC Thickers & the sticker is an old one from My Mind's Eye.

Dorcas, I hope you enjoy your day! May all your birthday wishes come true!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

PL with SOUS

Hey y'all & happy Monday!
I hope this finds everyone well. The sicknesses have been running rampant in our neck of the woods!
Ty got sick on Saturday with what started as a bad headache. He proceeded to throw up Saturday evening & run a fever. He rested all day yesterday & I actually thought he was feeling better. I took his temp last night after dinner & it was 100.8*. Which meant, no school today! Ahh! I am going nuts being stuck in this house! Hoping with everything I have that he can return to school tomorrow. His birthday is Thursday & I don't want him to be sick. Plus I have a lot to do!!

So today I have to share my latest Project Life layout with you. The current challenge is up at Stuck On U Sketches & it is to use vellum!
I used the kit I received this month from Memorable Seasons, Pink Paislee's Snow Village.
I adhered some sequins to the kraft cardstock & then placed a vellum piece over top of that.
If you get a chance to  play along with this challenge, link up here. There is a great prize being offered this month, also!

Scrap Shotz is offering some fabulous Tim Holtz stencils & 2 huge Project Life card sets!
We look forward to seeing your spreads!

Have a great day!
Stay well-

Rumple Ribbon Wednesday

Hey y'all & happy Hump Day!
So I am back to posting my Lovebug Creations' projects on Wednesdays!
Today I have a thank you note to share

I made this thank you card to send to a friend for some fabulous gifts!
I started with the kraft cardstock & trimmed it to 8x4". I then folded the sides into the center to make a folded card. The chipboard flowers & sentiment are from AC Dear Lizzy. I used the gorgeous Simply Sheer ribbon in a stunning blue from the Winter Wishes collection. I love this ribbon oh so much!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are staying warm!

Alphabet Stickers

Hey y'all!
Hope you're staying warm wherever you are. It is COLD here today! The kids had a 2 hour delay for school this morning because of the frigid temps. When we left the house at 9:50 this morning it was 10*. They will go in late again tomorrow morning, which they love!
With the temps being what they were, I didn't leave the house after driving the kids to school! It was a nice (& warm) day in the house. I actually got some scrapping done!

Today I have a challenge up over at Memorable Seasons to use your alphabet stickers. This month's challenges are all about stash-busting & I know, I for one, have many alphabet stickers!!
Here is the layout I created using my January kit, Pink Paislee's Snow Village:
I used some alphabet stickers that I had left that I could no longer make complete words with. You know when you use all the prominent letters from a sheet (a, e, i, st, t, etc.) & are left with a bunch of consonants that are in almost no words you'd ever want to spell out?! Well, I took them all & made a "word search puzzle" in one of the grids of my layout. The red & green alphas are from Fancy Pants. Can you spot the 4 words in the word search? If you leave me a comment & get them right, I will send you a RAK!!

I also shared my organizational tips for alphabets. I keep all of my Thickers in a bin that I got years ago at Target. I like having them all together:

My smaller alphabet stickers are kept in this bin that was purchased at Michael's:

And I keep my 12x12 alphabet sheets in this clear folder that I also purchased at Michael's:

I attached a hook to the inside of my armoire door & they hang there.

Be sure to check out this thread in the forum for more organization tips!

Have a great night!
Scrap on!
