LBC & JB Wedding Blog Hop

Welcome to the Wedding Blog Hop, Happening Right Now!!! Love is in the air!
This Hop is being hosted by Jaded Blossom and Lovebug Creations.
Thank you so much in advance for joining us.  Now, if your here from, Ashley's blog, then you're in the right place! If not, you may want to start at the beginning or just scroll down-I have the entire line-up at the bottom of this post.

I made a wedding "Congratulations" card:
I used the wedding dress stamp from the Wedding Wishes stamp set from Jaded Blossom. I stamped the background of the card in a brown ink after masking off the top part of the dress. I liked the swirls & bird design & wanted this to be the wallpaper for my card.
I then stamped the whole dress in the same brown & cut it from the paper. I tied a sash using Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon in Pink Clouds. The dress was then popped up from the base of the card & I added a pearl to the center of the ribbon.
The birds were punched with my Fiskars "Flight" punch. I applied Liquid Pearls to their centers. My sentiment is also from the same set of Jaded Blossom stamps.

I am in LOVE with the dress stamp! It is simply divine!!!
Next up on the Hop is Jaymie. Check out her awesome project!

"Mom" Tag

Hey guys!
Happy Thursday night to you all. For a short week, it sure has been a long one! We are desperately counting down the days until summer vacation begins!!!
So my mom had her gall bladder removed yesterday & was a nervous wreck prior to the surgery. I made her a tag to give to her with some other goodies when she got home (nope, still haven't actually given it t her though).

I started with a scrap of paper that is very old-I can't even remember the manufacturer! I then added the trim at the top & bottom of the tag; then the flowers & I fussy cut the butterfly from a piece of G45 paper. The Thickers are from AC. I topped it off with the gorgeous rumple ribbon from Lovebug Creations in the color "Augusta" from the Family Ties collection.
I was inspired to make a tag by the challenge happening over at Get Creative, which is to make a tag with flowers.

Thanks for stopping by & looking at today's project!
Scrap on!

A Birthday Card

Hi guys!

I am popping by tonight to share a birthday card I made for my husband (shhh, don't tell him)! His 42nd birthday is Thursday. I used this sketch from Scraptastic Club:

And here is my card for my hubs:

I am also playing along at Scrap Our Stash. One of the May challenges is to create a project using 3 different patterned papers & rub-ons. Here I used the blue dot paper from Bella Blvd's Sophisticates collection; the yellow paper I used to make the pennant is from Echo Park's For the Record collection & the striped paper is from My Mind's Eye & honestly, it's so old I can't remember the collection! How's that for using my stash?!
The rub-ons come here in the form of the sentiment (alphas from Jenni Bowlin) & the stars, which are from My Mind's Eye Breaking Free collection-yep, they are old too!!!
The paper doilies are fussy cut from EP's paper also.

Thanks for dropping by friends. I am off to bed! I'm pretty exhausted at only 8:30 tonight! I guess the long weekend took it out of me!

MME May Sketch

Hey friends and Happy Memorial Day!
I hope every one of you enjoyed the weekend and also took some time to reflect on what this holiday is truly about. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our wonderful country & our freedoms.

Now, here is the layout I created for the sketch challenge at My Mind's Eye this month. Here is their sketch:

 Ronda Palazzari MME May Sketch

And here is my layout:

Everything here is from the Find Your Wings and Fly collection except for the candy dots & the washi tapes. I just fell in love with this line when I first saw it & think everything about it is so pretty & delicate. Perfect for photos of 3 little princesses!!

Thanks for looking! Have a great night!!

Oh Happy Day!

Yes, it is FRIDAY!!! And a long weeknd too!! Although it's rainy here right now, the weathermen are predicting a gorgeous, sunny weekend!

Yesterday my youngest nephew graduated from pre-school. The same pre-school that all but two of the children in our extended family attended. We have all had a child at CLC at one time or another for the past 15 years! We will miss that pre-school for sure! I made Trey a card using the glitter cardstock from The Robin's Nest  and rumple ribbon from Lovebug Creations.

The "oh happy day" tag is from Simple Stories. I used the Simply Red ribbon from the Star Spangled collection. Love it!!
There are some amazing cards over on the blog at Lovebug Creations today too! Be sure to stop by and check them out!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend y'all!

B&W & 1 Color

Hey friends!
So the challenge that's up right now at Frosted Designs is to  use black & white & one color. I figured this was a great opportunity to throw in some orange (which I rarely use) & scrap some fall pumpkin carving photos!
I started with my background paper, then used my border punch along the edges of the orange paper.

I stamped with the Glitz roller stamp then added the large doily.
These photos are from 2009 (nearly vintage)!!

Him/Her Mini

Hey guys! Happy Hump Day to you all.
I am exhausted from this week's activities already, & it's still going strong! (But I am relishing in it all!) I am looking forward to a looong weekend with no schedules!
I want to share a project that has been a work in progress for many months now. I think I have mentioned before how much I love mini albums, but have such a hard time completing them. Well, here is another one that I have been working on for many months.

It's a flip-book with one side dedicated to my son &  the flip side dedicated to my daughter.

I have had so much fun just grabbing bits & pieces from here & there to add to this cute little book from Jenni Bowlin. Also, the word/s this month for Bird is the Word are him/her or he/she.
Thanks for visiting me today!
See you soon!

Thinking of You

Happy Sunday  y'all!
I want to share my latest card made with glitter cardstock from The Robin's Nest and rumple ribbon from Lovebug Creations.

One of our neighbors is not in good health so I made this card to take to her with some flowers. The green cardstock is the glitter collection from TRN. I also used my vine punch from Martha Stewart at the top, but it's harder to see the glitter there.
I did some fussy cutting on the flower & the butterflies. The dewdrops are also from The Robin's Nest. I topped it all off with the gorgeous rumple ribbon in "Rosebud", which can be found at Lovebug Creations.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!
See you soon!

Teacher Appreciation Week

This past week was teacher appreciation week at my kid's school. For my son's kindergarten teacher, I had each child draw her a picture & write what they loved about her. I then compiled all of the drawings in a book for her & presented it to her yesterday,at the end of the week.
I decorated the front with a doily, misc. school embellishments & of course, Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon!

I used the Simply Black & Simply White ribbons from the "Just the Basics" collection.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Sketchabilities #90

Hey friends!
I hope everyone is having a good week! It's been busy here. Drew was out of town 2 nights this week; Ty had baseball practice; tonight is the kid's school's 50th Anniversary!
I wanted to pop by quickly to share my latest layout. (Yes, I was able to squeeze in some scrappy time!) I followed this sketch from Sketchabilities:

I started with the background paper from Studio Calico & added black ink spots. I then added various papers & embellishments from Crate Paper & Echo Park.
This photo is from our visit to the aquarium in Myrtle Beach in 2009. Ty was fascinated with the sharks in the walk-through aquarium! He was only 2 here & was so little! Seems like just yesterday.....

Thanks for stopping by! The weekend is almost upon us!! Yippee!

Monday Craft Madness

Hey everyone!
I was given the great pleasure of guesting at Scrapbook Steals for their Monday Craft Madness spot! Each day at 9 a.m. & 9 p.m.(Mountain time), they offer a new "steal". They are really great offers but you have to act quickly!!
Melodee is such a sweet person and so great to work with! She sent me a wonderful package of Pebbles candy dots, & boy was I in Heaven!
My first project is a card that I made for a dear friend who made me an awesome bracelet for my birthday.

I used the glitter candy dots in "coffee" as an ellipsis. I also used the candy dots in "rouge" to fill in spaces within my heart. The heart was created by punching several butterflies in the same tone & adhering them to a cardstock heart shape.

Next I made a gift tag. We have several family & friends' birthdays this month so I figured I'd get use out of it!

I used the "lagoon" glitter candy dots (Love this color!) around the perimeter of the paper doily, a "rouge" one in the center of the butterfly & a "white" crystal dot in the center of the black doily. I love the extra sparkle they give to any project!
Lastly is the layout I created.

There are candy dots in the centers of all the buuterflies.

I also added them as bullets near my journaling.

Then I added them randomly around the page to bring more color to my layout!

Be sure to stop by Scrapbook Steals daily to check out the fabulous deals!
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a great one!!

You Deserve A Break!

Hey friends!
Today I am sharing a card I made using Lovebug Creations' rumple ribbon and The Robin's Nest glitter cardstock in sorbet. It's a card I made for my daughter's teacher for the end of the year. I know there are still 6 weeks left of school, but I thought I'd try to get a handle on things now. Her class was an extremely difficult one this year, so I have decided to make her a spa basket for her end of the year gift. Hence the title "you deserve a break"!

The cardstock from The Robin's Nest has a touch of glitter to it & is divine to work with! I love the extra sparkle it brings to my card!! I used the Simply White rumple ribbon that I think is my new favorite color! It is so crisp and clean! The sentiment was made on my label maker.
Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you all have a fantastic day!!
P.S.-what do you think of my new blog header? I'm trying to freshen things up around here! Any thoughts?

You Can Say That Again

Hey friends! Today a new challenge went up at Southern Girls Challenge. This time we want to see your projects with a sentiment or quote.
Here is the layout I made:

I have been a huge fan of the Counting Crows since "Mr. Jones" was so popular in the early 90's. Their song "Long December" has been a favorite of mine, & the quote I used here is from that song. "Hold on to these moments as they pass....."

This was a great way to use up scrap papers! I cut them all different sizes & used border punches on some.
I hope you get a chance to play along with us at SGC! Link up here for a chance at a prize!!
Good night & keep scrapping!
