Eleven in '11

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!! I hope you all have a safe night. We are headed just around the corner to celebrate with our friends & neighbors (so thankful for our wonderful neighborhood).

We had a great Christmas, but it did go by way too quickly! And speaking of that, where has this year gone?! 2012?!?!? REALLY?!

I wanted to do a quick post showing 11 of my favorite layouts from this year. It also happens that the "4x6 Photo Love" class at 2Peas was using 11 photos this month! I'll share that with you first:

It's a two-page layout with 3 4x6 photos on page 1 & 4 on the second page. These pictures are from our road trip to Fl & SC in 2009.

This is a 6x12 page in the middle of the layout with 2 4x6 photos on each side. I have not done my journaling yet, but will do it here.

I have really enjoyed following along with Shimelle's class. It's lots of fun to see how she incorporates all the photos onto a layout!

And here are my favorite layouts from this past year.
1. "Together"- I loved this paper & all the bits & bobs!

2. "Every Tuesday"- I loved playing with paint on this one. I also love this pic of Ty heading to pre-school!

3. "A Quiet Moment"- I love this photo & think the way that the layout came together reflects it's serenity.

4. "Our Pumpkin Princess"-this one was just plain fun to make!!

5. "Handsome"- I liked stamping the dots on using paint & adding all the embellishments here.

6. "Brand New"- I fell in love with the polkadot pp from CP when I first saw it! And I love that almost 5 years later, I have scrapped Ty's birth announcement!

7. "Sugar and Spice"- I love the colors here & it was fun to ink the doilies!

8. "Looking Back to the Beginning"- This picture is very special to me. I also loved playing around & adding things here & there.
9. "A Good Dog"- I fell in love with this paper from Sassafrass! Luke was a great dog & he is still very much missed!

10. "Princess"-sorry this is sideways-I don't know how to turn it!! These beautiful pictures were taken by a dear friend of mine who moved years ago & is still missed daily!

11. "Off to a Great Start"- this one was fun to create! I love all the little pieces & paint here!

And that's it for now. I need to get ready to go to our party!!

Happy New Year friends! Cheers to a wonderful 2012!!!!!

That Time of Year

Hello all!
I have wanted to post for a while now, but the days fly by & there just isn't enough time. Not enough time to shop, clean, decorate, sleep, blog, scrap, & on & on & on.....yep, it's that busy time of year!
And to top it all off, Leah & I are sick right now!! Really hoping it passes quickly!
Leah turned 9 (yes people, 9!!!) on Saturday & we took her to Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. That is her favorite place in the world & exactly what she wanted for her birthday. She had a blast & said to me at one point while there, "this is the best birthday ever"! That makes it all worth it!
Check out the birthday tiara! It's all about the bling for this one!

We have been busy trying to get our house & tree ready for the season. The tree has been an ordeal this year! But Christmas will still come even if it's not done perfectly, right?!

I have not had much time at all to work on my December Daily album & am actually falling behind now! Oh well, it will give me something to work on in the days after Christmas. I'll try to post pictures of more pages later. Hope you all are enjoying the warmth, love & magic of this season!

December Daily

Happy December!! Am I the only one finding it so hard to believe that it is the first of December already?!
While this is a crazy, hectic & beyond busy time of year, it's also lots of fun, exciting & my very favorite season! So to add another project seems crazy, right? Yes, but not if it's something you enjoy doing. I decided to play along with Ali Edwards (www.aliedwards.com/blog) & make a December daily album this year. I made one in 2009 & still enjoy looking back at it. Though I  have not finished pre-making all of my pages, I wanted to share what I have gotten done thus far. And I promised myself not to stress over this project-it will get done when it gets done! The important thing is to photograph our daily activities & to enjoy the season!!
Here is a photograph of some of the supplies I started with & the album cover. (This album was purchased a couple years ago & has been waiting to be put to good use! It's a canvas album from Donna Downey.)

Here are days 1-8:

I hope to get more pages completed soon & will share as I go along!
Have a great day!!
